By Air: The most cost effective and efficient option is via daily flights from San Jose to our local airport in Tambor. Fly Sansa or Nature Air are the two flight carriers. Its a 20 minute duration to Tambor from San Jose. A taxi will be needed from Tambor to the hotel. The hotel can help arrange for one, too. Total travel time is approximately 1 hour inclusive of the by road journey via a taxi.
By Car: From San Jose, drive to Puntarenas. Take the ferry going to Paquera. Once off the ferry, follow signs leading to Cobano. At Cabano, drive through town and turn left to Santa Teresa – Mal Pais. After a 10 kilometer drive, you will see the Mal Pais crossroads. Take a right turn and follow the road 1 kilometer north. The Zula Inn will be on your right side. Approximate driving time from San Jose to Santa Teresa is roughly 4 hours, plus an hour for the ferry.
By Bus:Take the bus from San Jose, departing from the San Carlos bus station that leaves twice a day 6am and 14pm. The bus also utilizes the ferry. Journey through the bus is roughly 6 hours..
