What it's like
Hotel Ritmo Tropical is one of the long-running small hotels of the area. Its Italian founder, Carlo, bought the land in 1993, and the hotel was built over the following years and finished in 1998. It's still family-owned and has been welcoming guests for more than 20 years.
The setup is simple: about 10 rooms and bungalows arranged around a big swimming pool, with a lounge and snack bar area to hang out in during the heat of the day. It's surrounded by greenery but close to the beach, restaurants and shops, so you get a bit of quiet without being cut off.
